Boredom and depression
are not the same.
they both leave
you starring
aimlessly
at nothing
for a long time.
The bored are
not unhappy.
Annoyed perhaps
not unhappy.
We have pills
for depression,
not boredom.
I am not
depressed
I am bored,
I tell myself.
Half the world
tells itself that,
I think.
What the other half
thinks
is a mystery
to me.
My time is short.
I watch more
television now,
read more books,
write more,
stare at the yellow sky.
My time is short.
These are troubling times.
who will be left?
what will be left?
What can I do
for those who follow?
Some have
jobs to do.
Others run
from fires.

In these 'Strange Times' boredom can be there occasionally but there outlets that can be persued and writing your words is one of them.

Thank you. you make a good point Andy.
A good open ended look at.......life, really.
Very clearly stated from my perspective, Trenz - thanks.
Thank you, Dave. I appreciate it.
running from fires is a job, its rewards: that next inhaled breath..
a good read, distinctions are necessary for everything
we must first find the fault, before looking for a cure
and by dissecting and categorising appropriately
we make it easier to administer, the helping hand
tailored to match: those quivering outstretched fingers
