In Praise of a Higher Authority

Accidental Poet

I came into this world

With the gift of love

And through my life

I would learn the meaning there of

A Guardian Angel

You gave to me

To stay with me all my life

And in times of stress to hold me

When I lose my way

Lost on wrongful roads

Tempted by wicked demons

Until swayed by Heavenly codes

You teach of love

To help each other

That having compassion

For my sisters and brothers

Some believe in you

And some choose not

We’re all given a choice

Your love is the lesson taught

To give of myself

A divine priority

I’ll do this for you

In praise of a higher authority

Thank you Andy. My latest entries I wrote from the inspiration of these particular songs. I'm glad you appreciate it.

Thanks LB. In the past I've written from my own perspective and beliefs, but it sometimes offended those who don't believe as I do. So I'm at least trying to write from a universal perspective if possible while still staying true to my original poetic thoughts.
