It may be
A cloud in the sky
Or a mournful tear
In your saddened eyes
The smile upon
A stranger’s face
The childhood memory
Of a long forgotten place
When you felt a tickle
There upon your funny bone
Laugh so hard it almost hurts
Just as you hear a ring on the phone
The feeling you once knew
When a friend did you wrong
And the change of your mood
On the radio an old favorite song
And that one special pet
Always with that look of love
Yes, a picture is worth a million words
Especially what your heart speaks of
And then there’s your first love
Oh, the ecstasy your young heart felt
The weakening of your knees
So in love you thought you’d melt
Dig deep into your heart
Unchain the words waiting there
Give them the freedom they deserve
Show to all that you care

- Comment from author about the poem: I was thinking about where inspiration comes from. And I believe the sources are almost infinite. Any thought you can have, a memory, experience, fantasy or even fear. As poets and writers, we sometimes feel writer's block. But then something will spark a word or group of words that you'll not be able to resist. And it pulls on you until you put it down in words. That my friends is inspiration.

No singing or swooning Orchi, please.
Awesome! The sixth stanza tugged at me. Many times it has given me the inspiration to write. I enjoyed it and it filled my eyes with tears.

So true AP, it only takes a spark to let lose those words within you.
