Sunbathing Bliss

M.E.M.

I lay on a beach towel in the patchy grass of my backyard.

My dog Gemma, lays beside me as I cover my eyes with my shirt,

while I bare my bikini clad body to the sun.

The doves coo in the trees above us.

The sun showers its light on us. A cool breeze keeps us comfortable.

Sunlight warms my limbs, seeping to my core.

I can hear tires rush along concrete and a yard crew blowing leaves.

The outside noises are not immediate, not important.

Gemma lays peacefully beside me,

the breeze brushes the grass against my arms, and the sun shines.
