Blessings

Wackyheartache4

I've got much to be thankful for,
Life is a blessing, no matter what.
Yet still, this darkness eats at me
The path I'm on leaves much in store,
Learning lessons, leaving doors shut.
Yet still, with starkness see
 what simply couldn't be.

The wind blows through the trees,
And the birds chirp happily.
Yet still, I feel hopelessly lonely.
The buzzing of the bees
And waves crashing on the seas
Serve little to cure this disease,
No matter how I plead.

I enjoyed it. The rhythm reminded me of rap. Thank you.

Accepting that your life is a blessing is leading you to the light from the dark place that you are in, that light will get stronger as you go towards it.

impactful and rejuvenating in wording, yet somehow
tender, broken and defiantly revealing, in tone..
what a wonderful portrait you've penned, dear poet
    thanks for sharing
