To our service men and women
We’re forever indebt
You defended our freedom
And our pride in you is set
Some of you came home
And sadly, some did not
Some came home to families
Too many to a grave plot
On this Memorial Day
Our stars and stripes fly for you
Our American flag
The red, white and blue
Stand tall with pride and honor
As the eagle soars above this land
Its shadow over grave yards
A salute from white gloved hands
Also, to doctors and nurses
In pandemic times of need
Putting your lives on the line
So others can be freed
Thank you all for your service
Feel our pride in you shows
Our hearts embrace you
Remembering our American heroes

Good write AP.
Thanks Orchi. ; )
Leaving aside the two great wars for the moment, which specific conflicts could be classified as the defense of our freedom, AP?
Any conflicts where other humans are mistreated or rights have been violated Dave. Thanks for the read. ; )
So do you categorically believe That all and every conflict "Our American Heroes" were involved in was in defense of freedom?
In one form or another, yes.
OK - I'll just leave it, I think.
Take care, AP.
Thanks, I think. You take care as well Dave.
To honor and respect as your poem has done so well. Thanks
