Into the depths of hearts
The universal quest for love
Be it man or beast
On Earth, every species thereof
A dog is man’s best friend
Always at his side
Consistently ready to please
Or as co-pilot for a ride
The household cat
A loner out on his own
But when in need of affection
He finds his human at home
I’ve heard of
Eagles who mate for life
With unique marriage vows
The male courts his wife
And mourning the loss
An elephant grieves
Emotional pain ensues
A family void it leaves
A Chimpanzee Mother
Holds her baby close
Safe in Mama’s arms
When afraid it’s there he goes
Love, not just a human emotion
But animals know love too
All species with brain and heart
Love’s reach in Earth’s Zoo

Love, as you rightly proved, is an uncontrolled emotion.
