Many years ago, we met
Our paths crossed
In our distant youth
Then our future was lost
But I knew
A reason there had to be
Why you entered my life
Though the answer escaped me
At first my tears
Like Niagara Falls they fell
And quickly my tears ran dry
As my heart for you would swell
My love for you
Knows no limit
Though you’re not here
Still in my life, you’re in it
As I told you Sharon
So very long ago
I’ll always love you
And that these words will show
I know we’ll meet again
In this life or the hereafter
In love and friendship
Sharing so much laughter
With poetry I wrote for you
I will entertain
The smiles we’ll share
When we meet again
