Traffic to Gifts

M.E.M.

Driving to accommodate

Hidden tension

LOTS of hidden tension

Boxes full of presents

Speed wrapped gifts

Organized crap into piles

Miles and miles,

worth of road.

Just to exchange gifts.

The small talk went no where

polite nods

to words not registered.

  • dusk arising

Brought to mind the reality behind the romance of the Chris Rea song 'driving home for christmas'.

That first line says it all, 'to accommodate' not to share with.
