Eternal Healer

Samer Amin

After the smoke of the battle subsided, the burning rubble began to emit one last emission of their black smoke.

After the thunderous sounds of the shelling began to sink into the original silence, the accompanying horror began to loosen its grip.

After the planes flied away after spreading an unprecedented terror into the very heart of the existence,

my deep wounds started to stop bleeding and proved not to be fatal enough.

After I set myself free and moved away from the heaps of the bodies of my comrades, I tried to crawl my way out of the bloody trench.

After walking desperately through the ruins and across the desolate desert towards my destination, far and away,

I passed through the heaps of death, destruction, blood and humiliation.

Hearing your gentle voice still calling behind the smoke of pains and torment.

Lifting my weary eyes towards your bright face, I could see your beaming, reassuring smile.

Lifting my hazy sight towards your luminous glorious face, I could see your auspicious smile cutting through the darkness of all my suffering and all my horrific pains.

Lifting my sandy eyes towards your glorious face, I could see you opening your arms, allowing me to find my eternal healing amidst the boundless mercy of your ever-awaiting hug.

May that embrace always be there for you no matter how hard life is.

Thank you Andy, may God make you unite forever and ever with your beloved one for eternity, and enjoy eternal happiness in the bosom of each other.

'After my deep wounds started to stop bleeding
      and proved not fatal enough,'
and the morose reality of true suffering, begins..
It's so easy to interpret the Grace
      in our chosen belief systems
within all the Mercy, we hypothesise
when, in actuality - War, teaches us
      the pragmatic concept
that there truly may be: a Hell on Earth!
and that's the only legacy, of War
      I can accept..
that we are so far - removed, from that 'Ideal'
      wishfully conceptualised by nature
during humanity's evolutionary rise to power
we no longer, have the capacity - to see
just how much the Hurt, we're capable of
      inflicting on each other
      as being the rotting corruption
of our 'humanity', it truly is...
and what, in all of Time
      has accrued
      the most horrendous crimes
against the sanctity of 'a Life's: Worth'
      than those wars, fought
      over our maliciously corrupted representation
      of organised Religion?!
      Faith-in
      Believing-in, something: anything
      is a laudable
and somewhat necessary trait for survival, but
confusing that - with blind zealotry devotion
      to inked words - 'Interpreted'
by your fellow - fallible human,
      is just ludicrous
in my humble - yet rudely opinionated, opinion
especially, with all that Historical evidence
we now possess and can so easily, access...

Sometimes symbolism and indirect allusion to our feelings and thoughts are the main components that can give any work of art its charming and special flavor.

I usually resort to metaphors and symbols in my lines in order to transcend the inherent limitations in words and their ability to convey our true thoughts.

I certainly wasn't referring to any physical warfare, I was just trying symbolically to express some of the mental or psychological states that we sometimes go through when we encounter hardships and adversities in our lives, and the great comforting and healing roles of our ''beloved persons'' that they can offer to alleviate our sufferings and pains to a great extent.

You can also note how this great wise observer "Andy" could get the true meaning and the implied theme of my lines in his lovely comment, I really wish him all the best in this world as he always wishes me all the best.

It is actually about the miraculous healing effects of our ''lovers' embrace'' that is able to heal all our wounds that we have been forced to suffer through our lifelong struggles in this life.
