No matter what adversaries claim
for all the sins my forebears spilt
I do not mourn, I feel no shame
for only guilty need feel guilt.

So true Michael.
Can I have a ride on the horse? 🐴🐴🐴
Andy
I'll fetch the saddle. Cheers Andy.
.. superbly said sir ..
Ta muchly Neville.
Never a truer last line here Michael - - shall be remembering it too for into my list of faves goes this little gem.
You flatter me Fay - thanks for your kind words.
True, Michael - but we can try to make amends to the offspring of the wronged where they suffer disadvantage as a result.
That horse - alive and kicking with so few lines - brilliant.
Yes we should always seek to make amends to those who suffer - we are all members of the same extended family.
these words take me back
to an idiom I could never comprehend
guilty 'pleasures';
as a concept, guilt is bathed in regret
and yet
we need only, flick through our memories
to realise
most of our own personal guilt, is born - mainly
from getting caught
because there's so many skeletons, we hide
in those cramped closets
that we simply forget, unless someone reminds us
with a pointed finger
or that sobering click of a handcuff;
and so I wonder
is our morality, an outlined concept
not filled-in or coloured
because we know, it might be a galloping
high-horse of righteousness
one day, and the next be warped into a snivelling weasel
of regressed: regret's, guilt...
(not sure if I interpreted your words and artwork
in a feasibly comprehendible manner
but, this is what my feeble mind came up with) lol
great to see you a little more regularly Michael
touch-wood, that's a promising sign 🤞🙏
What a great comment worthy of posting in its own right and yes - things are all okay waiting for the next scan - in the meantime we are filling every day with activity: meeting friends for dinner, lunch, coffee, - spending days away etc. We are currently organising a coffee morning in aid of McMillan cancer support so never a dull moment.
Awesome!
Good write, Michael.
A fine gesture that horse very sellable piece.
Both the poem and the paint are perfect.
