A Challenging See-Saw

Laura🌻

Up and down

Down and up

Forward and backward

Backward and forward.

One day at a time

I dare say.

Stay positive…

Challenge accepted!

Up and down

Down and up

Forward and backward

Backward and forward.

Today is an up day.

As a matter of fact

Today is a great day…

—a great day to embrace—

Embracing the ups

Frees me from the downs.

How true your poetic words ring dear Laura - - our up days make us more determined to cope with the downs - - I love that final couplet - we certainly need to embrace the ups.

In 64 years I've learned that you can't have one without the other. The balance of life. But those ups are oh so wonderful. Great write Laura. ; )

Good one there Laura. Reads as self talk which is definitely the way to go . As I well know, no one else can do this for me.
Works because I have reasonably secure living conditions - if not affluent, at least comfortable.

And I'm here to fulfill my promise dear Laura, this is art! I love this beautiful analogy of a see-saw as life. That line "Embracing the ups / Frees me from the downs" is actually so sincere and heart-touching. When we welcome the positivitey of life, the darkness seems to steer clear from our sights. This is such an impassioned poem of optimism and I love the way you weaved it! (I knew you had a talent!)
