The journeyman has become a master
It's such a sacred day
You see I bought a pair of craghoppers
and threw my jeans away.
Comfort over fashion
Now reigns strongly in my mind
And you can't beat sketchers walking shoes
If you have to walk a mile
I have a hat for every occasion
Well one for wet and dry
And i rather think a wax gilet
Does subtly catch the eye
To top it off all complete
An allotment i now own
Only two minutes easy walk
From my ground floor no steps home
And words of advice?
You bet I do
Enough to last the day
And it's freely given to everyone
As they try to walk away
Aches and pains
And things gone saggy
Enough for a doctors thesis
Thanks to Google and an active mind
I can provide him my prognosis
I can't eat like I used to do
For fear of a bloaty backlash
So gluten free and porridge oats
Replace my daily rashers
The list goes on and will never end
But i think it's safe to say
I love craghoppers trousers now
The greatest comfort ever made

Been wearing Craghoppers for as long as I can remember.
Stopped wearing jeans in the 1960s when they became a fashion item and shot up in price - never bought a pair of them since.

I have only one slight problem with your great comedic essay - I had not the slightest notion as to precisely what the garment you chose to feature was...
Thought initially your mention could be attached to Craigslist - you know, trousers you could get in and out of quickly....
Turns out it's (Google) active wear without the 'i'. At the other end of the earth, my choice is RipCurl all cotton fleece...
So I consulted the craghoppers website ans confusion ensued. Theres several types of craghopper trousers. I'm guessing yours are the ones with the removeable lower leg portions to appreciate this hot weather.
