Doorways

Accidental Poet

So by now you’ve noticed

I linger round a door to the past

And my gaze upon the future

 Only momentarily lasts

You see, in all honesty

I’m a simple man

I have my faults

But I do the best I can

Yes, it’s true

My yesterdays are gone

And no one knows them like me

Yeah, I’m the only one

As I turn back through

The pages of my life

I reflect on younger days

Searching for answers I’d know were right

But to learn the answers

I must ask the questions

Research the world of love

Nourishment from digestion

Wandering through the past

Maybe the secrets to life I’ll know

Onward through doorways to the future

I’ll set a new course and go

Each door into our life takes us into a new path in our lives and most of them are so wonderful.

Thanks Andy. They say, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained".

        A fine write AP.
Doh! I did not get the hang of things. I thought the saying was 'When one door closes, another one slams in your face!' A glass always half-empty there. lol.

Then reopen the door with a full glass Orchi. Just don't sing when open that door. ; )

Bit tricky opening a door with a full glass. Might spill it! lol.
