As I reconstruct the pieces of my jigsaw life
I notice the man that I'm creating has this knowing smile
The eyes that are watching have an appraising look
While the way that he is standing is confident and strong
Although there is some grey he still has his hair
And the belly that he has was once not there
But it's that look in his eyes he's got which interests me
And I'll only get the answer once the jigsaw's complete
So I'm patiently searching for the pieces that I'd lost
And finding my enjoyment at the ones I come across
But now I understand as the jigsaw comes together
I'm looking in the eyes of a knowing fellow
Because the edges may be rough and the picture not so smooth
But there's a confidence growing there of someone who has learnt
So this jigsaw man and his jigsaw world
Are fitting together nicely like a jigsaw should
And when the last piece is found and lovingly placed
I'll find myself complete and in a contented state
I may even frame it!

A fine write SC.
Well said, Sax - that's the way I went too - I feel that I and many others will be able to identify with that.
And for any that can't........
I vote with orchi - a fine write.

(yeah, this definitely hit home for me
accessibly worded with purpose
a great read, thank you dear poet)
A really excellent composition Saxon. I enjoyed reading this very much and it is so relateable.
Into my favourites for sure.
"Jigsaw" what a superb metaphor for life
So many un-finished Jigsaws
Loved it!
Yes indeed, frame it and be proud! Terrific write🙂
Very positive words SC, I am sure that you will soon have that jigsaw completed.
Andy
Good metaphor for life and there will obviously pieces from other jigsaws that need to be discarded.
Does anyone ever complete their life’s jigsaw?
