Four Years

Accidental Poet

From 5th grade to 8th grade

I learned more about life

Than all my time in school

For within those four short years

I learned about love

A forever student to the golden rule

Because love of various levels

Part of everyday life

Teachings of social living

Being compassionate

Caring for one another

A positive effort in giving

But from 1967 to 1971

I learned many life lessons

My internal driving gears

Most importantly

The time I spent with Sharon

Four years

Very good AP. Four years is just a little time in our lives. My learning was from 18 to 22. At 22 I married. But I never learned of love and caring till I was 18. A late bloomer to some. But once I learned of love it took me by storm. I enjoyed your poem. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks ep. I know 10 was really young, but Cupid didn't give me a choice, so I went along willingly. And I'm grateful for every second since.
