In The Absence of Light

Accidental Poet

In the absence of light

I lay in bed waiting

For a full night’s sleep

Haunting, but still evading

Thoughts racing to nowhere

Round and round in my brain

Maybe just a bad dream

Or am I’m slowly going insane?

Sometimes I forget where I’m going

For thinking bout where I’ve been

Moving forward is all relative to

A point of reference of where and when

Decisions for the future

Analysis of the past

The gravity of destiny and chance

My life from an unintended cast

So many people living

The life they were meant to

Happy and carefree

Naturally, they found their groove

Sorry Orchi, I can't hear you with these ear plugs in. Thanks for reading though. 😁

Thanks AP. lol. I had an absence of light. The light bulb blew, then I fell down the stairs in the dark. Here's an impression of it: '*Aarrggghhh!* Good acting innit?! lol.

        A.P.,

        Happy…but not so carefree
        …at least for me!
        These words of mine ⬆️⬆️
        may sound like an oxymoron,
but not so much for me.
I’ve learned to live and make the best of whatever comes my way.
        I’m my humble opinion,
living in misery and/or feeling sorry for oneself is futile.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful poem.

May we all live that life we were meant to AP.
