La Traviata.

Goldfinch60

Into the cinema I went,

Found my seat and waited.

There on the screen the stage was set,

A young lady stood there,

More joined her

And the opera started.

The music sailed around me

As the lady sang with her glorious voice

The others joined,

All was well.

The man in love with her

Crept on the stage

And sang that wonderful song.

As the opera went on

I was becoming drawn in

Until it was completely within me.

I was lost in the music,

Time just flew.

Suddenly it was the end.

I came out of my revery

Not knowing where the time had gone,

Over two hours lost in my life,

But so much time enjoyed,

Very much enjoyed

As I seemed to become part,

Part of La Traviata.

I can never quite get over the diversity of your taste in music, Andy.
Categorically, those two hours were not lost....

Thank you Dave. Music of all types has always been in my life and as far as I am concerned there are only two types of music, that which you like and that which you don't.

I'm envious of your enjoyment and appreciation of a musical place I have yet to appreciate. Plenty of life in you gadding about to the flicks at your age.

"gadding about to the flicks" eh, are you cockney as well.

I enjoy opera very much and have a great deal in my collection, I have also seen many operas with Joyce, mostly screened but some live, one of my remaining ambitions is to go to The Royal Opera House.

                Andy,

‘La Traviata’ is one of my favorites. When you’re fully engaged in something you’re truly enjoying, time seems to go faster than it actually does.
                Thank you for sharing.
