Tune: Crimond
('The Lord's my Shepherd')
1 Peter 2 v.21-25
********
Christ suffered for us, example
He did leave unto all
That we in His steps should follow
He did no sin, we know
When He was reviled, he did not
Revile, give equal lot
When He suffered, no threatenings
Made He, but in all things
In all He did Himself commit
To His Father, each whit
God, who does judgement righteously
With truth and equity
Christ in His own body did bare
Our sins on the cross there
That we, being dead to sins should
Live righteous as God would* (*wills)
By Christ's wounds we are healed, for we
As sheep astray were, see
But now are returned to God, He
Shepherd of your souls be
