So typical!
Left home slightly earlier,
Earlier than usual
Had to avoid the traffic
At this time of the day,
I did not want to be late.
As I drove I just didn’t stop,
There was no traffic.
I might have seen a dozen cars
Where normally
The road was jammed.
Even all the traffic lights were green
So arrived much too early.
So there I was sitting in the car
Writing these words!

- Comment from author about the poem: This is true, I had an appointment at 9.00am and had to drive into town when normally the roads were jammed with cars, but on this day they were not there so I arrived very early.

Andy.
Great one Andy
Have a great day ahead
Thanks to no traffic, we could read these words…traific is a nuisance…it kills the mood..have a wonderful day ahead
Thank you spilleronsheet, it is so unusual to go into town with no traffic around.
Have a great day your self.
Andy
So true Andy
I hope we all get no traffic days ahead
It can vary. If it rains, it's best to leave early, I find. Everyone gets their car out if it's wet.
Thanks Orchi.
Perhaps the other drivers saw you coming - wish I had that effect. lol
🥴🥴😊
They don't normally. Usually the roadworks god sees me get into my car and digs the road up in front of me. LOL
Yes I have that problem too except they don't usually get as far as digging it up - they just put out the cones and temporary lights.
I've noticed Monday's are quieter now, and I'm just wondering if people on flexi time are having long weekends.
Don't know why it was like it that day, normally that road is jammed at that time of the morning even in these Strange Times.
Andy
Just move to Atlanta, GA. I promise you will never arrive anywhere early‼️
I tell people if they are bad in this life then they have to spend eternity driving in Atlanta. 😂
It used to be like that where I used to live in the South East of England, it is certainly better were I live now in the Midlands.
Andy
Since lockdown there seems to be less traffic.... people working from home i guess which has to be good for the planet or are they using collectively more energy to stay warm than they would in the workplace? i dunno.
It has been like this but the main road into town is nearly always very busy, it wasn't on this particular day. Strange.
