Why do I do it?
Why do I make them?
I know they taste wonderful,
And that is the problem,
As every time I pass the biscuit tin
I need to see if they are still okay.
They always are,
But need testing when I pass them.
I know I shouldn’t make them
But it cannot be helped,
They are so nice
That I must eat them.
They are also a curse
Because I keep eating them.
When will I ever stop making them,
Those wonderful digestive biscuits.

It’s so nice to make your own biscuits ..I don’t make biscuits that much . if their low in sugar wouldn’t matter if you eat a few . )
Probably so much nicer to eat homemade biscuits rather than from the shop
They certainly are - that's the problem. LOL.
Andy
Tasty! Yes - give them up for Lent! heehee.
If I did that you would only send Fido to fetch them for you!
Andy
You ca lent them to me Orchi.
You baked any dog biccies for him too?!
Faure was a nice touch. Don't eat too many biscuits!
Thank you Eugene, Faure is always good to listen to, with or without biscuits.
Andy
But how's your digestion, Andy?
You obviously need Digestive Biscuit Anonymous: "My name is Andy and I haven't nibbled a digestive biscuit for at least...."
I did go to DBA for a while but lost out to the biscuit passion.
Andy
Sad on one level, but you gotta get pleasure where and when you can...Live dangerously, I reckon.
Multitalented dear poet
Share your recipe
Well it would be better to taste to have you as a neighbour around
Home made biscuits are simply on another level
Thank you spilleronsheet. I have shared them in the passed.
I make bread as well and my previous next door neighbours were struggling somewhat and I always gave them a loaf after cooking them on a Sunday morning.
See your email for the recipe.
Andy
Thank you so much dear Andy
Your neighbours are so lucky
When biscuits get the better of us. Candid, uncomplicated. Nice one.
Thank you Garth, much appreciated.
Andy
I know where you are coming from. Back in the days of 2020 shielding I was getting free food boxes each week and found i was building up a supply of porridge oats. Once i became bored with porridge i sought other uses for them and found a recipe for oat biscuits made with golden syrup.... my oh my I couldn't stop making and devouring them over those shielding months until i realised I was over-indulging.
Now I have banned myself from creating these wonderful biscuits/cookies. Although recounting this tale is making me feel twitchy about it.
Beware Andy..... lest you become biscuit-bound.
I know exactly how you feel d a, sometimes the things we eat in our lives take us to a place where we need to stay.
Andy
No driving while biscuit eating. 😁
Wouldn't dream of doing that AP.
Andy
Ha ha Andy..... I make them for my nephew at college, eat about 6 of them, then wrap and send quickly as possible before I break into the package.......
Yes I do make them for others as well but you know how it is Lorna, you must try them to see if they are up to standard.
Andy
yup, as a fellow foody
and intuitive enthusiast, in the kitchen
I too suffer from the successes
and failures of my culinary adventures
to this date, once I managed to stop myself
from cooking chocolate and lemon curd Soufflés
day after belt-lengthening, day;
I have never: dared
to cook another one...
yeah, being lucky enough to enjoy your own cooking
is a curse, few
are willing to admit or confront! lol
(another fun write
thanks for sharing, dear poet)
Chocolate and lemon curd Soufflés eh Mek? I must try that one day.
Thank you for your words Mek.
Andy
be careful, if you get either right
its moresome multiplied by a hundred, lol
(but the grandkids will love
the theatre of the melting centre)
oh and a few tips,
I find cooking it in a water bath
(soufflé cup, placed in a baking tray
filled with a little bit of water
to create a steam effect
during cooking process);
and generously coating
the inside, sides of the cup
with sugar, before putting-in
the baking mixture
helps it to rise, I find..
good luck my foody buddy, lol
Amazing what you can do with digestive biscuits. Love dunking them in tea of coffee.
So true Paul,
Andy
