Oh yes, I'm a narci-wotsit

Narcissist, that is

Though don't ask me to say the word

After I've had a gin - or five!

Unless I've added water to it

 

Any relation to narcissus?

Ohh, that's a plant!

Yep, I go for riverside strolls

I look into the river and say - 

Who's that handsome beast there?

I've never seen anyone prettier

I shall swoon if I look much longer

 

Why it's me, of course!

The self-absorption is terrible

I'm oblivious to all else that's going on...

 

I'm all wrapped up in myself

Me, me, me is all that matters

If you were as famous as me

Could you cope with it?

The ego trips

The utter disregard for anyone else

 

It all makes sense to me

Then - argh! - walking Fido

I slipped on the riverbank and fell in the river

Woof! says Fido

That'll teach ya; that'll bring ya down a peg or two

 

And when we got home

Fido baked me a huge humble pie

It had dog food in it

But he made me eat it! heehee.

 

You need not have humble pie

Have Apple Strudel instead
