though tears

dusk arising

i read your word
poetic friends
through tears of shared emotion

i write my word
my poetic side
through tears i share emotion

i bare my soul
a transient fix
through tears of shed emotion

i gather strength
from writing here
through tears i shed emotion

Dusk !! let the tears flow, and be devoid of the heavy emotion..
    Good one !!

    • dusk arising

Tears are a sign of being emotionallt involved with the subject of the poem.

      DA,

I “hear” you loud and clear. I empathize with your shared and shed emotions. Faith and courage are my companions these days.

Thank you for sharing, my dear poet.

I think faith brings courage, it does for me. Glad you felt this piece, thank you Laura.

        • Laura🌻

          I totally agree, DA.

Those tears bring a cleansing to your body as they are transformed to words.

You're absolutely right, they are a strength when you consider how renewed you feel after tears.

          • Crowns4Christ

I can feel your emotion friend, and am crying along with y.

            • dusk arising

Tears are a demonstration that we become emotionally involved with the subject of the poetry, that we take it on board and allow it to affect us. Quite a spiritual thing to do.

              • Crowns4Christ

I know, you are completely right.i think to feel,I mean truly feel the emotion of the words,is to totally understand and respect poetry.

              • Poetic Dan

Yes and shown me I am my savoury as I feel many become there own. This is why home is a feeling not something you own!

                Thank you my friend
I hope all is well your end.

                • dusk arising

LOL @ savoury, I'm sure you meant saviour - beware of google auto-correct.... it's made a fool of me several times.
If theres one man i KNOW speaks from their heart it is you Dan.

Ah - -Dusk how I relate to your words today. Tears are a gift for calming emotions so poets can express each chosen subject more deeply --- life's challenges can evoke need of weeping and your poem shows how strength is achieved when we learn the wisdom of healing by means of tears. Thank you for sharing it dear friend.

                  • dusk arising

Is weeping a strength or weakness in this context, indeed what are strengths and weakness in this context. I don't know where i fit into those questions in truth but i do know many tears have been shed in outpouring my feelings within the stuff i write. Certainly mps has given me confidence to expose my feelings so it must be healing my introvert inadequacies.
Thank you for your thought provoking words here Fay.

                  • Michael Edwards

                  • Rozina

Sometimes our tears are inside of us. To be able to release them through poems shared with friends helps to ease the load. Thank you for sharing.

                    • dusk arising

Yes, well stated. Thank you Rozina.

                        Tears trailed
                        Lighter are our inner beings
Thanks to encouragement of mps I found a newer me
And healing started with deep wounds touching, resurfacing and then it healed
When others talked about how they could fight their woes
The heart knew it wasn’t alone
Thanks dear Dusk for writing so many beautiful lines
I cherish and feel the pleasure to go through your lovely write with deep insights…

                        • dusk arising

I try to put myself into the subject I'm writing about and it is flavoured (or tainted by) all the emotional baggage I carry from life. Thank you spiller.

                        • woundedheart

Well lockdown certainly gave us all time to reflect and take a hard look at ourselves and our lives and your poetry has the same power, lovely. ☺

                            Thank you woundedheart.

Putting your words on paper helps you heal and understand. It does to me. That is why I write.

                            • dusk arising

Just as it does for me too, well said. Thank you, keep writing and posting here on mps.

                            • Paul Bell

If you're not involved, there's no point writing the poem. I think we leave a little in every poem.

                              • dusk arising

By and large i agree but when I write fantasy stuff about elves, faeries and such I'm not sure what part of me is emotionally involved other than to entertain, especially for kids and the kids inside us all. Thank you Paul.
