I’VE GOT A DOG

Michael Edwards

I’VE GOT A DOG

I’ve got a dog, I call him Bud

he loves to wallow in the mud

and as does he grunts and snorts

his body’s round, his legs are short

he shuns the lead, he’s very shy

he sleeps each night inside a sty

he never answers when I call

Perhaps he's not a dog at all.

    Is he friends with Fido?!
One of our cats thinks he is a dog, I reckon. He chews newspapers, and bites pens and pencils as if they are dog bones! lol.

    We too have a dog
    my the name of Bart
    he's often accused
    of that anonymous fart.

    but you can tell
when he's really let one drop
    from the accompanying odour
    of something in rot

That's my kind of dog, you get to take him out and about, and when he's done, he leaves you in no doubt.
