Birth Blessed

Tune: Winchester Old

('While shepherds watched')

Luke Chapter 2 parts

*********

Come now and see the Saviour's birth

And give Him praise and worth

He be found in a manger laid

The Son of God displayed

In Bethlehem, a little town

But now of great renown

The 'house 'of bread', Christ is born here

Bread of life does appear

And skies were filled with angel throng

They sang their joyful song

To lowly shepherds was revealed

Birth of Christ, not concealed

Seek Him not in a palace bright

Though He the world's true light

Creatures in stable join in joy

Here born a baby boy

He be full human, full divine

Does with God's glory shine

We too many be born from above

By the Spirit, the dove
