Would I.
Had I heavy jewelled crowns, cloaks of silk
and embroidered gowns.
Had I diamond ankle rings, coats of fur
and more for the asking.
Would I trade all of this wealth for nights
with thee 'gainst my bosom pressed.

Thou hast done a good write Fay!
I suppose I could use 'thee' and 'thou', if it helped to give more rhyming opportunities?! I prefer 'you', etc, though.
'and if I, were ever
to be deemed worthy
of reciprocating
such a fateful, choice
would it be your forgiving warmth
I would embrace
or once more
let my ineptitude, ground me
to those quicksand's
of accursed regret...'
(what a scenic portrait you weaved
dear Fay,
forgive me but I couldn't resist
trying to scribble a little reply
to your captivating poem)
I'm thinking she's keeping the bling, but he might be in with a shout if a ring is produced pronto.
Took me in portraits of olden days
Women in crochet
Men in tails coat
Caverns on street
A beautiful scene playing at its peak
Thanks dear Fay for creating those scenes
