A Letter, to Those Who Make Bots

AuburnScribbler

Ahem, to whom it may concern,

I am writing to warn you, that your days are numbered,

You think you’re clever, but all you do is blunder,

Though right now, your scams are going undetected,

When we find you, you’ll pay for what you’ve infected,

Taking confidences for granted, you take our gold,

While this sort of crime is new, to us it’s getting old,

A billion fake fuck buddies, are made on your keyboard,

Making a joke of finding love, thus no-one really scores,

Listen, if you’re bored, I’m sure there are better ways,

To occupy your time on those dreary days,

Why not be judicious, in your choice of job,

You never know my wayward friend, you could reach the top,

But also, listen, if you’re hurting, don’t hit me,

As I’ve done nothing to wrong you, so please see,

I’m like you, I’m trying to get by,

In this whirlwind shitstorm that is called life.

But if you think, that what I say is trash,

Then little fools, allow me, and us to rehash,

We will find you, you scammer planners,

Rightfully brandishing, our heavy duty hammers,

Where we will say to you, “don’t talk, just bleed”

Your online fear will die, we’ll take back the lead,

Your premeditative kind, will at last be extinct,

No more making a quick buck, in the Earth you will sink!

It’s clear; this dislike, I have for you,

But please, I implore you, think it through,

You have the time, to change your methods,

You, I, and us, can get through this together,

So, please, no more fake Facebook accounts,

Or Nigerian Princes with cheques that’ll bounce,

This part of life’s design, I wish to swat,

Take heed, on this warning, those who make bots.

Yours,

A very disgruntled ginger, not only trying to find his soul, but hope in general!

  • Comment from author about the poem: Though it’s a new year, things remain the same, and one of those really infuriating things, is online scammers. I don’t know what goes through their heads, and why they think it’s fine to plague others with anxiety, and even sometimes; rinse others of their savings, without feeling guilty. To me, enough is enough, and all over the world, initiatives that have been put in place to catch these criminals, should be by far more concentrated. So, here is a poetic letter of complaint and warning, that I hope jumpstarts either a sense of justice, or the reformation of their characters. I hope that you enjoy the poem, and as always please stay safe (whilst online), and in general everyone.

May that hope come to fruition soon Ben.
Many of us know about these scams but there are also many who do not have the knowledge and fall into the traps of these scammers.
    Why do such people exist?

    Andy

    • AuburnScribbler

Thanks for the read Andy, and I really do hope that this nonsense can be canned soon.

I totally agree, not only is it dangerous to a vulnerable minority, but it's just become too much of a nuisance to tolerate, from those who know how to evade the traps, this modern way of living really leaves a lot to be desired!

Thanks again, and I hope that all is well!

Fine write about something that's getting worse. My scam box fills up daily and I'm constantly emptying it without even bothering to see if there's anything genuine there,

      • AuburnScribbler

Thanks for the read Michael, and I agree with you, it's getting beyond a joke.

It's engrained into the daily routine now, but it shouldn't be, it should be banned, and those who perpetuate it, should either take a good look at themselves, or face the justice they are owed.

Thanks again, and I hope that all is well!

        It’s really annoying
        Those bots
        Those scammers
        Those hackers
        Someone hacked my social media
        So annoyed i was
        I stopped using it anymore
I reallly hope these dallying things stop now
        It’s really pissing

        • AuburnScribbler

Thanks for the read spilleronsheet, and I'm sorry to hear about you getting hacked.

The electric age promises bright futures with bright lights, but in reality it turns out shit like this, it needs to stop!

Thanks again, and I hope that all is well!

A couple of shifty handymen have stopped me more than once in the street. I should report them to police.
They draw up to me in their van, and say I owe them for gardening work. I don't even know the guys.
It's a horrible thing for people to fall for.
Not seen them a while. Maybe they've been caught.

          • AuburnScribbler

Thanks for the read orchidee, and I'm really sorry, and shocked to hear about your ordeal, I too, like you, hope that your situation was sorted, and they've either ceased harassing you, or have been detained.

Thanks again, and I hope that all is well!

            • orchidee

I saw through them, and tried to play along, to catch them out, but it didn't work.

            • Rozina

I get these everyday too. I've never bought anything via Amazon and yet this company keeps wanting to give me a free gift! All sorts of rubbish. A good reminder from you.

              • AuburnScribbler

Thanks for the read Rozina, and I'm sorry to hear about your Amazon problem.

For certain things, I am an Amazon user, and I haven't experienced the gripe that you have, but other companies sure do annoy me, and I wish that they weren't so greedy, to lure me and other people, into becoming customers of things they don't either want or need.

Thanks again, and I hope that all is well!

I hope that all is well!

'A very disgruntled ginger, not only trying to find his soul'
                  ahhh, that sharp wit
it knows no limits, and forces itself
to shine in all, that you ink
(I agree with your Fury, completely
but fraud, is not new my wise friend
                  its just, the whole
'put all your life, into one
                  account number or phone
                  or swipe device'
                  broken-at-origin, ideology
                  lends itself
                  to unsavoury characters, gaining access
                  to almost everything we own, all at ounce;
                  you'd think
                  those clever, software designers
                  and nimbly fingered programmer's
                  would have foreseen
                  this plague, creating itself
                  from the outset, right?
                  'oh wait
                  they, are never effected
quite as bad, as the rest of us
                  because, they
                  take precautions
                  huh?
                  isn't this just cyclical history
                  of the have's
slapping the have-not's, in the face
                  repeatedly
                  generation, after
                  wasted generation
                  with that greedy, Capitalist
'pass it down the line', mentality...!)
                  ahem, do please
                  forgive my little rant
and thanks for sharing, dear poet

                  • AuburnScribbler

Thanks for the read L. B. Mek, and for once again favouriting one of my poems, it's very much appreciated.

No need to apologise fo your rant, as this poem is very much the same sort of vent, I wholeheartedly agree with your emphatic comments in your above paragraph, I really do hope that there will be more guidance and common decency, to at least regulate such a travesty that sits so unashamedly proud in our daily lives.

Thanks again, and I hope that all is well!

                  • Saxon Crow

I was going to write a pleading E mail to you As but I don't think I'll bother now. Although you have gold? Hmm mm??

                    • AuburnScribbler

Thanks for the read Saxon Crow, and I hope that those pleading emails are to a minimum, haha, and "gold" is just a term I use to make my possessions seem more precious, haha!

I hope that all is well!
