The living room
Dark and empty
The absence of you
Taxing me plenty
So sad to see
Your unoccupied chair
Where you would sit
Now all I can do is stare
The void I now see
Of all those now gone
The people and animals
Leaving me to carry on
I’ve never been
A man of change
But time marches on
Like it or not, we rearrange
A way of life
Adjusting to life anew
I know you’re still with us
In our hearts and spirit too

Thank you for baring your soul. Sorry for your loss.He obviously holds a special place in your heart.
Thank you chris, yes he holds a very special place in my heart.
Losing someone is awful. I stare at my papa’s chair often and picture him still sitting there, laughing.
never forget!
A memory I too will be long remembering. Thank you, girl.
Dear AP,
My deepest condolences for your loss.
Your poem is so relatable. I miss my parents very much. They both passed on peacefully in the same chair…years apart. And yes, they’ll always be
‘In our hearts and spirit too.’
Thank you for sharing.

Thank you Laura. Lately I've been thinking of how after you lose one parent, you then begin to think about what it'll be like when the other parent is gone. Now I seem to look at the world from a slightly different perspective. Thanks for reading and your comment.
This is so beautiful it brought tears😢 As my mom (RIP) would always say, "never say goodbye, always say see you later because goodbye's are forever"..with sincerest condolences✌️🕊
Thank you Angel1, that same philosophy came to me after my Mom passed April 2008.
He will always be with you AP as mine is with me.
Andy
