Notice of absence from Doggerel Dave
Not absent - still here!
Keep Calm and Carry On Poeming. 😂
Not absent - still here!
Keep Calm and Carry On Poeming. 😂
So this is a quick fare thee well from me
And an adieu from Doggerel Dave too.
Perhaps one day I may return – I’ll see;
Right now I’m tired, inspirations few.

Take the best of care and do hope you get your mojo back - sorry to see you go.
I'll try, Michael. The main thing is that you don't disappear - your art work and poetry combinations are a mainstay of MPS.
Thank you.
Dear Dave,
So sorry to see you go.
I do appreciate your
message telling us why
you're leaving MPS. There
have been a few occasions
where poets have left
without telling fellow
poets...of course, it is their
prerogative to do so; however, it's a
bit disheartening and
disappointing when
certain relationships build up and suddenly we’re left in the lurch.
There are others who are no
longer on MPS because
they're no longer on this
earth. That’s a totally different situation, of course. May they RIP.
Don’t stay away for too long.
You’ll be missed.
Stay safe and be well.

Thanks for your support, Laura.
You are one of those members (several here) who help buttress MPS, keep it stable and not just a passage through which many briefly pass. You are supportive in ways in which I sometimes cannot bring myself to be. Very simpatico.
I’m at the moment weary, not just because of the physical and hot humid summer, but the exhausting matter of Covid and daily changes and restrictions pushed by incompetent politicians which never cease and do nothing to ease the spread.
Anyway, I’m going to RIP for a while (meaning very literal – I’m no good at metaphors – so this doesn’t mean I’ve carked it) and return sometime at (almost) full strength.
Dave
Dear Dave.
Thank you for your wonderful response to my comments. Very much appreciated.
I’m looking forward to your return.
Be safe and stay well.☺️

I think a lot of inspiration has been zapped by the alteration to our lives which the pandemic has brought. Suddenly poets are running out of steam and patience, myself included.
It would be a shame to see you disappear completely so just sit back and let some time pass till you feel like scratching out some more words for us. Plenty seem to be on hold at the moment... join the club..... come back when you can mate...... stay safe.
You've got that right dusk. My limitations have much to do with the will sapping changes in direction which are all too frequent as a result of political indecisiveness.
Still, you have managed to maintain a presence here – I hope that will continue, as MPS needs you.
Look after yourself.
Dave
Do take care. Hope to see you back soon on MPS. All the very best to you.
Rozina, I’ve just done a survey of your back catalogue (now tired) and realize that I’ve often missed out…. Apologies. You’ve done some fun writes. You seem happy here, so it is pleasing to know MPS has another stable member to keep the site in good shape.
Dave
PS: There’s nothing wrong with the occasional rhyme or two…..........😊
I am with Dusk... there's a collective weariness, but you have always made me smile and even think! Plus, you have the best nickname.
It’s understood that, unlike many MPS poets (me for example – very retired) you lead a very busy life. I’m grateful that you provide encouragement here when you can and have always found your comments constructive – thanks for that.
Nickname? Anything else would be false advertising.
Take it easy (when you can).
Sorry to hear this Dave, hope to see you on here again soon.
Andy
You most likely will, Andy - the question is, when?
Think you deserve an award for being the most stable, consistent and prolific member of MPS.
Look after yourself,
Dave.
Take care buddy and see you soon
Certainly possible sometime, Sax.
Will pop in from time to time to read, so always pleased to see something comedic from you...
