That First Sign.

Goldfinch60

There it was,

There it was showing its head

As it popped up through the earth.

New life was coming to my world,

These dark, dank, dark days were changing.

The buds of Spring were there

Showing me that the brightness

Was coming back to this world.

There was only one bud

But I knew the others would follow,

And before long the beauty of Spring

Would be with us as they flowered,

Shining the yellow flowers all around,

All around my garden

As the daffodils bloomed,

Bloomed once more

As they did every year,

Forever bring more brightness

Into my life,

Into my wonderful life.

Lovely words ! So nice to see flowers . To see flowers in winter..)

Spring is the best season tho , in my opinion .

The birds are singing outside in the garden .. went downstairs at six this morning opened the door to listen .. they are so pretty aren’t they .

    • Goldfinch60

      Thank you yellowrose.

Autumn is my favourite season but Spring is a close second place.

The birds are so wonderful in the morning, I have birds collecting nesting materials in my garden, so wonderful to see that new life will soon be with us.

Autumn is lovely .. actually I love all the colourful leaves . But yes , autumn is nice too .
They are beautiful . First thing I found myself smiling at this morning .. the sound of the birds , perhaps because they are so pretty

Wonderful isn't it. The continuance of life. Even though our seasons seem to be messed up we know nature will find it;s way to cope with whatever trials mankind inflicts on it.

        • Goldfinch60

Yes it is d a, Nature will always find a way to come through.

I not seen one just yet. I check the hedgerow of our garden too. It gives us plums around July.
The Sunday theme yesterday of an old church service book was 'Signs of glory!'

            They will come Orchi.

Our church yesterday was a service for christian unity - I did not go!

They wheel that out each year, around the end of January. Hopefully they stay in unity!

I would love to see those yellow daffodils brought to life in your poem.

              • Goldfinch60

I do not think it will be too long before they flower.

                yeah, noticing a few hyperactive
                early buds, of green
on a few trees, barren branches
                'not long left, now
                till bright colours of Nature
                help to introduce, warmth
                back into the grey
                of our everyday routines'
(thanks Andy, just that spoonful of hopeful
I needed, to lift the fog
from this dreary winter's Monday morning)

                • Goldfinch60

May that fog always be lifted from your life Mek.

Helebores, cyclamen, snowdrops primroses all in bloom in mine but no daffs yet - wot be long. A big vase of them on the kitchen table - a lovely flower and well captured in this write.

                    • Goldfinch60

Thank you Michael, so glad you have flowers in bloom, so wonderful to look out upon.

A nice bright and cheery piece here Andy.

I too cannot wait for the warmer seasons to come, where the visual floral symphonies make their welcome return.

Bravo, and I hope that all is well!

                      • Goldfinch60

Thank you Ben, yes it will be great when the 'visual floral symphonies' appear.

Strangely enough, it was pretty warm today. A little glimpse of flower, does that mean winter is over. Is spring springing, or am I getting ahead of myself.

                        • Goldfinch60

Just a glimpse just to show us winter is almost over and we can look forward to the beauty of Spring.

                          To the lazy soul
                          And the cold heart
All it desired was just a wisp of spring
Thanks for such a beautiful and hopeful write dear Andy

                          • Goldfinch60

                            Much appreciated Spilleronsheet.
