Tune: Laos Deo
('Bright the vision that delighted')
Psalm 30 v. 5, 8-12
*********
I called unto you, O Lord, made
My requests to you, them laid
Before you, said, Save me, hear me
Have mercy, my helper be
You did hear, answer, and me save
Turned my mourning, and you gave
me dancing, clothed me with gladness
Gone now sackcloth*, I confess
(*worn as a symbol of mourning)
'Tis so that my tongue shall praise you
In you I my strength renew
I shall not be silent, but sing
Thanks for ever to you bring
His anger it endures but for
A short while and then for sure
In His favour is life, weeping
A night, but joy in morning

Good one Orchi
Thanks Gold. I don't think the Psalm is about a bereavement, but where the writer was downcast, and 'mourning' because of trouble from his enemies. I'm an enemy if I sing! lol.
Great write O
