To Fade Without Warning
And then there was
nothing
Not even a breath
for his fingers to trace
in those
moments remaining
Condemned
to condense and be
gone in a
gasp, a flicker and fade
without so much
as a warning
and with nowhere
to hide
between and against,
the now
misted surface of some
old broken
mirror somewhere ..

The sudden end of what was once seen and felt comes over so aptly in these lines of surprise and astonishment - - another jewel that can mean what readers wish - clever as always your unique style my dear friend..............x
thanks Fay .. and not just for the visit but for being such a loyal friend my friend ............... x
Was she gone like a puff of smoke? How would I meet her if she's gone?! lol
............................................. you will just have to wish upon a star or summat Mr. O 🙂
applicable:
to those mirage, dreams
logic defining, romances
and self-betraying, mirror reflections...
(oh and I just loved your title, dear Poet
plus that moody reverie, you imbued
into your lines ever-so, subtly)

Woah
You threw a palate of emotions on canvas
There was yearning
There was missing
There was grief
There was a sudden realise
There was astonishment as well as disappointment
And lastly there was a message that i imbibed
Live In the moment or it may fade
Those around as well us in frame
We may fade
Beautiful dear Neville
Your review is a poem in its own write ... & far better than the little scribble you dedicated it to .. x
No sir its comment that muse struck over the fine poetry of yours…your writing is an addiction itself…a kind of calmness reading the lines…to the poetries you write….
Dear Neville (I keep thinking ‘Neville the Deville’ and know that I should not mention the weird ruminations of my brain to an almost stranger, not knowing what his reaction or his sense humour might be... In any case it is thought kindly!) ... anyway, what I wanted to say is: You really are a truly great poet! Not too many words but so precise and directly piercing into the heart. Thank you for letting us in! Bettina
Ha .. bless you dear friend .................... I guess I am a bit of a devil if the truth were known .. and you are really are way too kind and generous Bettina .. muchly appreciated though .. and always welcome to stop by ... I sincerely hope over time, you will gain greater insight with regard to my sense of humour ................................................................................... Neville 🙂
Ha! I am glad you don't take much offence 😁
I certainly cannot claim to be angel-like either.
As for the humor I look forward to studying your foerthcoming musings, humorous or not..
Good to hear ................................ N 🙂
Compelling. Puzzling at first. Then realisation. Simply wonderful.

Those sudden ends can be so disturbing but at the same time sometimes mesmerising.
