Stop Falling in Love So Easily!

AuburnScribbler

Like the “word of god”, with love,

we have mangled it’s design,

as Romeos and Juliets blub,

to ask their questions, why?

Perhaps, a dose of peer pressure,

is the reason, why they’re paired,

to ruin the pureness of treasure,

that they continue to despair,

brash boasting you will see,

when they’re out and about,

he shows his abs, she; her booty,

which always leads to a bout,

you know the ones, like Ibiza,

where obsessive ownership is played,

the story of “Chad” and “Lisa”,

who do not know how to behave,

the result, a rushed marriage,

and children, they did not want,

such a wasted wedding carriage,

with tainted water in the font.

Or perhaps, the outcome is an app,

where they like to do their swiping,

Simon says, “girls, sit on my lap

for I’ve got something enticing!”

Thus, greedy girls, start their chats,

with snakes in tall grasses,

forgetting sense, to become mentally flat,

as they continue to shake their asses,

therefore, “stability” is the game,

love is not about finding people,

such absurdity, is rich and fame,

let’s hope for a better sequel,

where these two headed beasts,

will not redefine things again,

for let there be some true feasts,

but, for now, love is truly pain.

So, before you; make a romantic plan,

I implore you, don’t make it queasy,

too many forced errors, comprise the land,

so, stop falling in love so easily!

  • Comment from author about the poem: There's been a headline in the news recently, which is a result of a very worrying thing indeed, people falling in love too easily. The "Simon" mentioned in this poem is Simon Leviev, otherwise known as the "Tinder Swindler", who stole quite a considerable amount of money, by being nothing more than a malicious poser, but the reality is, is that he got quite a lot of response from girls who were not thinking. In general, I really don't like the way people have "rebranded" love, to be war and greed in disguise. A prime example of this, is that there are by far too many dating shows on TV, that sometimes, challenge the confidence of vulnerable young people, that leads to anxiety and depression. Love should be love, so please, I implore you, look before you fall into it! I hope that you enjoy the poem, yes, this description was written by a single guy, and as always, please do stay safe everyone.

    It’s genuine
Love shall not be tainted and painted with greed
It may happen over a chance meet
    But true is your advice
    It shouldn’t happen that easily
    Alas
    Love is blind
But this tinder and all is really shoddy

Thanks for the read spilleronsheet, and I know that my recent poems have been somewhat rants, but there is simply too much in this world that could be improved.

I'm glad that you agree with the sentiment raised in this poem.

Thanks again, and I hope that all is well!

This is not a new syndrome. It is the stuff of novels and films galore. But quite horrible and it's presence taints the genuine people (my own experience).
There will always be the susceptible and yes the plain stupid who get duped.

Thanks for the read dusk arising, and I agree with you, this social (or anti-social) mess has been around for millennia, just look at the stories of Helen of Troy and Cleopatra, and the wars they started all because of "love".

In order for some validity to be reclaimed, thinking before acting, needs to be deployed, but as you've said, and I sadly agree with, there will always be those, who naturally elect to be stupid.

Thanks again, and I hope that all is well!

        Very good advice indeed.

Thanks for the read Rozina, and I hope that the advice implied here, can kickstart the reclamation of some sanity.

Thanks again, and hope that all is well!

True words Ben but when true love happens it is no con.
