A Gift

sorenbarrett

Slow down and wait for me

Don’t frown though your burden’s heavy

I have one more beam for you to carry

So shoulder the thing and don’t tarry

In lightening my load by giving it to you

Carrying it will lighten yours too

Its weight, inverse to its size

How great I didn’t realize

The more you give it away

The more certainly, it’ll stay

Though not money, it's its own pay

It’s a smile that will carry you on your way

Yes one's smile makes light of many a burden and reflects inside us as we smile from deep inside. What better displays our enjoyment of life?

Amazing piece! When you're going through hardships, being able to lie on another's shoulder is such a blessing. To have someone who guides you through pain even when things get tough, is what we may need the most. Nicely written! 👍

A smile can be so important in our lives, I smile at everyone.
