Thinking Old.

Goldfinch60

We live our long lives

Having bad times and good.

The good always outweigh the bad,

But as our age increases

Some worry about getting old,

But age is just a number,

A number in our lives that increases,

Increases each year.

But what we must realise

Is that we should not worry,

Not worry about getting old,

Only worry about thinking old.

In my mind I am not old,

I am as I have always been

Always been in my mind,

Thinking of the good things,

The good things in my life

And I know there will be many more,

Many more good times to come.

So don’t think about getting old,

Think of being who you are,

Who you are in your mind.

      Good write Gold.
Didn't we give up feeling old ages ago, you and I. Did we give up worrying about it just after the dinosaurs?!

      • Goldfinch60

Yes very true Orchi, the dinosaurs showed us how to stay young.

Definitely agree. You’re only as old as you feel. Great poem and excellent message.

        • Goldfinch60

          Thank you Rozina, most kind.

With you all the way in your view of thinking old my friend - - our minds are a field of such power and your words bring out the fact that "as we think so we are" - - a much needed reminder dear Andy and thank you for sharing it.

          • Goldfinch60

So kind Fay, thank you for your kind words.

Definitely, think young, you'll be young. In saying that, I'm giving the hill a miss today.

            • Goldfinch60

Thank you Paul, yes I gave the hill a miss as well.

Yep that's me.... now bring on the short pants again and lets go climb trees again.... hang on.... my knees are cold, that cold is no good for my arthritis, let me sit a while .... any chance of a hot water bottle?

I lost my brother to cancer about five years back.... now i'm living for the both of us... plenty of adventures twinkle in the corner of this here eye.... lots to do when this blessed pandemic will let me out.

              • Goldfinch60

I am sure that your life will go on with those twinkles and life will be wonderful once more d a.

I'll treasure these words of wisdom
                bottle them
like fine wine, and sip a cup
                whenever I need reminding:
                'I
                am not old
                I
                am just full: of experience!'
                (such soothing words, Andy
hope you have a great weekend)

                • Goldfinch60

                  Thank you Mek, much appreciated.
