Dying with My Phone (A Song, to the rhythm of “Living on My Own” by Freddie Mercury

AuburnScribbler

Beep boop beep boop, beep boop beep boop

V1

I really hope it doesn’t breakdown and dies, (so phoney)

I need to compare myself with the other guys,

It’s so phoney, so phoney, dying with my phone.

V2

At times I feel as if I am running too fast, (so phoney)

And certain apps, will shut down on me, down on me, I get hazy,

Oh so hazy, dying with my phone.

Chorus

Beep boop beep boop, beep boop beep boop

I don’t have the time for any actual business,

Beep boop beep boop, beep boop beep boop,

I am so phoney, phoney, phoney, phoney, yeah,

The next time I wake up I’ll be dead.

V3

I continue to ignore intelligent warnings,

I’m a moth to flame; where I’m flying “free” in a fake world,

It’s so queasy, dying with my phone, my phone, my phone.

Chorus

Beep boop beep boop, beep boop beep boop

I don’t have the time for any actual business,

Beep boop beep boop, beep boop beep boop,

I am so phoney, phoney, phoney, phoney, yeah,

The next time I wake up I’ll be dead.

Beep boop beep boop, beep boop beep boop

I don’t have the time for any actual business,

Beep boop beep boop, beep boop beep boop,

I am so phoney, phoney, phoney, phoney, yeah,

The next time I wake up I’ll be dead!

  • Comment from author about the poem: This song is about an aspect of the modern "zombie" culture: the over attachment to our phones. We all do it, glued to our messages and social media/gaming apps, but we should endeavour to spend more time doing more healthier things, like having a walk, or actually having a talk face to face. Accompanying the song, is a YouTube video, of the original inspiration: "Living on My Own" by Freddie Mercury, and a clipart design; of a t-shirt from betterthanpants.com, that I thought very apt indeed. I hope that you enjoy the song, I hope that after a long phone session, that you give your soul and eyes a good rest, and as always, please do stay safe everyone.

Okay this was a message to the people. I love songwriting and this piece was beautiful. We need to appreciate life OUTSIDE of technology a little more. 👏💕

Thanks for the read Rocky, and yeah, this is a clear message, to encourage folks to just breathe in some fresh air from time to time, in order for them to remember not to not become "fleshing robots"

Thanks again, and I hope that all is well!

      I ended up singing along
Really enjoyed your take on the new savvy tech that’s annoying our lives day by day

Thanks for the read spilleronsheet, and I'm glad that you had a good "sing-song" along with this, and I'm also glad, that you agree with this frustrating dilemma.

Thanks again, and I hope that all is well!
