This world's beyond reach,
Accepting the fucked upness,
Everything goes, huh?

I enjoyed your first Haiku---yes the world is a bit fucked up but there's always light the end of the tunnel if you let it. Love this!
Thank you so very much Christina! It's nice to see you enjoyed my shot at a haiku. I'm a little daunted by poetic forms but it feels good to write outside of free verse at times as it allows you to play with the words until you reach an end product you're happy with. There is always light at the end of the tunnel and I'm a total optimist when it comes to that. However, I feel that even within that happiness that we seek there will always be chaos surrounding us. So this poem focuses on the madness that surrounds us and just elusive the world is. Thanks again! π
You can beat an egg mate
but you just can't beat a flippin haiku
can ya .......................... Neville π
Honestly!! Haikus are such a fun form and it's nice to know you enjoyed my take on the ditty. It's playful and that's what makes it a great poetic form! Have a good one! β¨β¨
Forget a haiku! Do a kuhai instead! Haha great poem seriously
Straight uppp!!!!!!!!! Low-key going to make that into a form of poetry though. The "kuhai." Sounds interesting π Thanks for the comment Waleed, nice to hear from you! Btw, is your name pronounced "OK" like the word "okay?" Or is it pronounced like "ox" but replace the "x" with a "k?"
Hehe yeah I feel this a lot, ESPECIALLY in 2022. May y'all rest in peace when we go extinct.
Heheh!!! This is so kind! Thanks for the heartwarming response. It's nice to see that I was able to get your attention with this poem. I hope you enjoyed! May you also rest in peace. I sense the end is near π π³π€
My (imaginary) 'watch-dog', Fido, crops up at times. He's got a policy. If people don't mark poems 18+ where they should be, he barks ferociously at them.
He's a reading, talking, carpet-slipper wearing dog, ya know, relaxing by the fire in winter, or in the garden in summer, reading these poems! lol.
Oh wow! I totally get it. Fido is my type of pal π But yes seems apt to mark this as "18+" I just didn't do it because, at the end of the day, there's nothing really "explicit" about it. Just the fact that I used the word, "f*%k" So I just disregarded it. I like to create provocative work that will catch the readers' attention and teach them a lesson, in a straightforward manner. But I appreciate Fido's advice and appreciation of my work, so let me go edit this real quick! πββοΈπ¨
It so difficult to attempt a haiku
Simply beautiful dear Rocky
Challenging the world of its orthodoxy
Exactly dear poet! Haikus are slightly daunting for me but I just push past the fear. It's delightful to receive your input on my works. We surely need to confront the disorder we're living in and diverge from the submission. πβ¨
So much meaning in just 3 short lines. Great! I also want to give haiku/senryu a go. Inspired by so many poets.
Thanks so much Rozina! I'm happy to discover that you found the poem appealing. That's what's good about writing haikus, they allow you to really squeeze your mind into 3 little lines that you have to constantly revise and refine until you reach a point of gratification with your work. It's encouraging to see that I could inspire you to take your shot on the fun form. Go for it! πβ¨
Good thoughts Rocky, I write a lot of haiku, senryu and tanka, I have also created a type I have called Wordiku which only use three words but the words contain five, seven, five syllables, for example:
Intimidating
Conceptualisation.
Obligatory.
Andy
Thanks so much Andy! I'm glad that you enjoyed my haiku attempt πI'm also in love with your form. It demands you to think even deeper about how you can convey a meaningful message but in JUST 3 words. The example above is very clever, and very profound. I might just embark on a Wordiku myself! β¨π
You were just in time. Fido was about to bark, when he did NOT see the 18+. lol
He barked at me, in my poem called ******. Here's part of it:
Ohhh, *&^%$(^ *&^%$!!
And furthermore (*&^%Β£! *(^]{~
Grrrr! *&^%$Β£ }{_( *&^% $ __
And even (*^%~} )*&^% Β£"!!
Don't ask me to translate it or Fido's ears will be burning!
SteeHEHehehHEHEH!!! π€£π€£ Omg this is priceless. Fido definitely has an ear for scandalous poetry! π
