Midnight thoughts

kitty the naughty poet

midnight thoughts twirl

and dance like nobody's watching

as my mind's eye dreams

of the sleep that evades me

conjuring scenes of old hurts made new

speaking the lyrics of sorrow

allowing it to envelope me in the night

this bed is cold and lonely

twilight dawns a song

with a sea of shining light now dull

a cloud of despair without you near

my sorrow talks with pain

now my body tragically aches

but that doesn't stop

the midnight thoughts

seeping the sorrow out my eyes

as twilight dawns a new day

It can be quite sad when your loved one is not with you even for a short time.

Wow! I personally love your more toned-down poems that express emotions so lovely and vividly (not to say I don't like the more intense and "dirty" ones πŸ˜‰, but it's nice to see this style for a change.) An emotion very well conveyed.
