Whole World Watching

Rocky Lagou

Blue

Yellow

Blue,

Then back to Yellow again.

This is an unsolicited war,

and the

Whole

World

is

Watching.

World War 3?

No,

World War 10.

“History never repeats itself, but it rhymes,”

And right now, in this time -

It was

Pearl Harbor Disaster

Now it’s

Corrupt Russian Master

That commenced the global mayhem.

No White-Blue-Red force nor no sickle,

And better said, no-one at all,

Expected the Resistance of the

Blue-Yellow fighters.

They are righter,

We are writers –

Bearing witness to inciters

Overnighters

Dynamiters

While we are clicking on typewriters.

It’s a whole wide world,

Watching.

Scrutinizing,

Eyeing,

Observing,

The unsolicited hands who cause horrors.

Did you see the images?

The graphic images?

Old woman driving runover,

By tanks of dirty posers? (It’s a bravado)

Bloodied civilians,

Bandaged woman with a look of confusion?

Children – gone?

Because of unsolicited hostility that should’ve never have happened.

Blue

Yellow

Blue,

Then back to Yellow again.

Until the end approaches,

Peace

For

The

Whole

World

Watching!

Political issues never end. But poetry and music lift us beyond. For the occasion put on fish (Pisces) with Jinjer. (They are a Ukrainian female fronted Heavy Metal Band) Listen to the words. Well done

    • Rocky Lagou

Yes indeed fellow poet! Poetry will live on and will create a breakthrough! I will surely check out the band you suggested, I personally love metal as well (Poppy is great at delivering a heavy metal vibe but at the same time switching it up.) Thanks for your kind words and your comment! ๐Ÿ’–PEACE FOR THE WORLD โ˜ฎโ˜ฎโ˜ฎ

Yes it seems that historically one thing we never learn from is history. It's hard for me to watch the news cause I feel helpless. all I can do is pray. But your poem is excellent and was worth the read.

      • Rocky Lagou

Yes Christina! History never ceases to pop back up again. It's a trend which is static and unmoving. We must stir a change! I really appreciate your kind words and I'm delighted to hear that you enjoyed the poem. Have a lovely day! ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™โ˜ฎ

        Great heartfelt poem Rocky

        • Rocky Lagou

Thanks so much for the response! I really appreciate your enthusiasm when it comes to my works as I mean what I write and I write what I mean. The world is falling apart in front of our own eyes and it seems like the end is near. We must rejoice as you say and seek meaning in these tough times. Justice will be done. Thanks again for your lovely words and may you have a blessed day! ๐Ÿ’–

Peace an expensive state of living
            Coming at high price
So well penned with just the apt amount of breaks and space
            So eloquent dear Rocky

            • Rocky Lagou

Thanks for your wonderful comments Spiller! I love it when you stop by! Peace is surely a challenge to acquire, which is far beyond unfair, but the world is unfair. We must learn to navigate the rough waters of life and learn how to command the seas with peace and happiness! I also appreciate your appreciation of my syntax and breaks. I'm inspired by many 19th and 20th century writers like Dickinson and Plath and their unique ways of writing often brushes off into my own works, so I'm happy to hear you enjoy that aspect of my poetry. Have a wonderful day fellow poet! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

              • Rocky Lagou

Thank you kindly! I'm glad you enjoyed the poem! We are war poets and we must make our voices heard! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™

              • Rozina

Very good lines. Your poem is so meaningful.

                • Rocky Lagou

Oh Rozina! I'm flattered! I try to fill my poetry with as much meaning as possible to be able to convey emotions and ideas that can be open to multiple interpretations. Right now in the world there's too much negativity, so I feel a drive to write. Thanks for your review and I hope you have a wonderful day! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

We all need peace for the whole world Rocky but many just will not be that way.
May peace always be with you.

                  Andy

                  • Rocky Lagou

Very true words Andy. Sadly a large percent of our world has adapted to the hatred and the injustice and has promoted it instead of standing against it. That's why I feel us poets have a duty to write poetry that will speak about issues occurring worldwide and to advocate for freedom. I appreciate your kind words and may you have a lovely day! PEACE FOR ALL! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™โ˜ฎโ˜ฎโ˜ฎ

I've read a few poems about the war in the last couple of days and yours is one I really like (if there is something like that). War is beyond words and one struggles to talk about it in any context. But because you use so few words per line and leave room for the reader this actually feels real. I also think it's really good that you don't use the word "I".

                    • Rocky Lagou

Wow, I feel so honored to hear these words. Thank you so much for your appreciation of my work! I strive to write poetry that'll truly resonate with others and challenge readers to view the world differently. War and the repercussions of war is definitely a touchy topic to write about and it can't be expressed with a cynical mindset. You have to be able to feel other's pain and allow yourself to walk in their shoes. I tried to express a sympathetic and open viewpoint by intentionally not overloading each stanza with a jumble of words and really allowing for each carefully selected word to speak for itself. I also wanted to create a sense of unity in this poem by only using the pronoun "we." This an issue that not only Ukraine is facing, but the whole world indirectly. This is having an effect globally and that is why the "whole world is watching" this catastrophic event play out. So I'm really delighted to see your observations of my poem and I wish you a wonderful day! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›โœจ

                      Another fine one rocky!!!
"History never repeats itself, but it rhymes"; It's we who could not identify Where, How, and What unexpected happened and failed to learn from those events. I genuinely feel rather than following someone's perspective. One should look carefully into these events; so we refrain from being a part of the blind herd. And yes, never bypassing the fact that the "whole world is watching".
Hoping; for all this to end soon.

                      • Rocky Lagou

Thanks so much for your emphatic review! I really appreciate it! When doing research for this poem, I knew I wanted to include a quote and when I stumbled upon that quote by Mark Twain I felt an urge to add it in. It really speaks to our world and the way in which we neve fail to commit the same mistakes. I also completely agree with your pov and we must surely make our proper evaluations on the events unfolding. We are one world watching! May you have a PEACEful day! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™โœจ

Putin I expect will take seriously ill soon and will pop his clogs. They'll make him a hero as befitting as that seems, then the decent Russian people will rebuild Ukraine.

                          • Rocky Lagou

Honestly I hope Putin pays for his actions. This is an unfair battle and it is only causing harm. Putin will surely deal with the consequences. Thanks for the comment! FREEDOM FOR UKRAINE! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™

Hello dear reader, thank you so much for the generous remarks. I always say that I strive to create poetry that'll resonate and connect with others and I really do.
