Between Squalls
Should you ever listen hard enough
between the squalls,
you may just hear those flocking angry gulls ..
Each yelling vague obscenities
o’er them vicious waves, at you, at them and me

Those seagulls! Once we were holding ice cream cones and a seagull swooped and took one away from my hand before I had a taste. Yes I can hear them yelling!
Best wishes.
thanks Roz .. I know, they are such greedy things aren't they .. I dont think my wife ever managed to finish one without it being swooped away ................................................. Neville π
Good words Neville, thank Nurse Deacon for me and I hope you soon get well.
Andy
On behalf of both me and my new gull friend .. Ta n truly GF60 π
Best wishes N.
At our local pond it's a competition between seagulls (in chillier weather - we're not near the coast), ducks, moorhens, coots, and even a goose turned up. A crane did not come very close for food.
Cheers Mr. O that is sorely appreciated .. sore being the operative word sir .. and thank you for the bird update, I am myself something of a horneythologist .. around my neck o the woods, a much loved female Goose called Derick has gone missing presumed dead from Watchet Harbour .. there is presently a collection being held for a statue & plaque in her honour & memory
.. but then we are all quackers down ere in Zummerset ................................... π
I've heard them and suffered their air raids - little devils - hope you're recovering well but don't shout back at them - recovery comes first.
Thank you Michael .. after having me throat cut open from the inside, I'm struggling to open me mouth @ present ........................................................................................................ Neville π
This is a shock, Nev - obviously more than tonsillitis. Intend to share more?
Forget the gulls for the moment - Nurse Deacon had no need to threaten sedation; There's not much sleep in hospital no matter how s/he wanted to frame it.
Wish it had been tonsillitis mate .. ta for visiting me .. the last day & night have been pretty lonely .. Had to laugh though when I caught nurse D having her shave when no one but me was awake .. π
No joke, my friend - where to from here?
Ah, You leveraged off my 's/he' reference - only to clarify that all nurses are not necessarily female, although I personally wish they were. And not just because I enjoy flirting with them (which I do at every available opportunity) but because some male nurses have the belief that they are the repository of all knowledge by virtue of their expertise; patient's experience of their body not to be taken into account.
Though having made that comment, I've encountered some hard case old matrons too......
You are of course write mate .. not all nurses have x 2 x chromosomes .. some do in fact have a Y too .. Nurse Deacon I believe to be of the former persuasion .... maybe .. but she sure needed to have that 5 a.m. shadow removing before the ward round ... Hopefully back home for supper & my own pit π
Ignore they squalls Nev and get yaself home, warm an better agen soon.....................x......x
Ta Fay, consider it done ... Home again before tea, he hopes ....... maybe π x
oooh lala, less than a week back
and you're all over the Nurses, lol
hope you get well soon, dear Poet
and yes,
'the degenerate babble
do make such a ruckus
with
their hackling and squabbling'
Ha .. you should hear em in the next ward .............. cheers Mek .. yeah I try to keep them on their toes ..................................................... Neville π
tipsy? toes....
π
Yeah .. I reckon one or two woke up early and were still half cut .................................. π
tipsy toes, drunk
of
your poetry, alone...
