Trusting Times

Tune: Christchurch

('Now is eternal life')

Psalm 31 v.15-24

********

My times are in your hand

You Lord of every land

Deliver me (us) I pray

From enemies alway

And from them that persecute me (us)

Save me (us), and my (our) protection be

Make your face shine on me (us)

I (we) true your servant be

Save me (us) for your mercy

Is great, faithful, I (we) see

Let me (us) not be ashamed in you

O Lord you will help, (us) renew

Let lying lips silent

Be, for they no relent

Speak grievous things proudly

Against the righteous, see

They contemptuous are, not care

For good, but ill-fate they shall share

O how great your goodness

Laid up for us, you bless

Us who do fear you here

Help to them does appear

They trust in you, as men they face

They assisted by your sure grace

For you shall such them hide

In you they shall reside

In your secret place known

To you and them alone

You shall hide them from man's proud boasts

You e'er the Lord over all coasts

O love the Lord, you saints

Holy, free from sin's taints

He preserves the faithful

Rewards proud doers all [in justice]

Be of good courage, and He shall

Strengthen you heart, hope in Him well

Trust is one of those things not necessarily peculiar to us humans .. but is, nevertheless something only we can accurately define ... N
