dusk arising

I ain't one to blow my own trumpet
maybe because i play saxophone
yes I tried a trumpet but.....
anyway, I digress cos
I just did something I'm rather proud of
cos there's been times along the way
when i wondered if I'd ever achieve it
my older brother didn't though I wish he had
cos my sisters, mum and dad did it too
I woke up today to find I'd made it to seventy
hey-ho I'm celebrating
A nice nurse doing an ECG on me
wished me a happy birthday this morning
though a cardiologist was indifferent
I'm hoping my van passes it's MOT this afternoon too
I haven't been big on birthdays
but I'm pleased to be having this one
so go on...  say it...

Let me be first then -- my dear dear Dusky - from me HAPPY BIRTHDAY and may this be the start of wonderful things ahead for both your van and yourself. - - huggles galore. x x x x

Thank you Fay. I have a posh car too. The van is my old work van which i had been hoping to convert into a camper van. But camper vans have gained such bad press over the last couple of years and most of the free overnight park-up places have now had restrictions put on them. So car-camping will be my intent for the near future. Oh to get away in fine weather. I've promised myself a day out in a favourite place tomorrow.

      Ha!
seems we're days apart, my fellow Pisces
      I'll toast
      to your zeal, for life
that trait, to look at bleak reality
      head-on
      and still, Choose to Fight!
      how I laud, your bravery
in wording your poetry with Hope, whenever you can!
      Here's to you, Dusk
and to the fortitude, of goodness
      prevailing over ill-fate's circumstance
cheer's, I wish you a year full of painless breaths
and sunshine smiles, adorned by those you love
      and of course
      an endless, deluge of inspiration
      to fuel, your insightful Poetry...
      to your health! ๐Ÿป

What a pleasure and gift to say happy birthday you old git! I'm sure brother is proud of how far you've stuck with it! Here's to plenty more once you've finished playing nurses.

Many happy returns again and thank for blowing that trumpet or sax lol
