horrible

dusk arising

horrible isn't it
knowing the suffering being
experienced in eastern europe
watching people like us
being murdered by a war machine
horrible too is what we can see
reading between the lines
but few are talking about.
we are led to believe how much
we are making putin suffer with our sanctions
and so it may be but....
my mother used to have a saying
"your cutting your nose to spite your face"
because those sanctions
are clearly going to backfire on us.
Our energy bills will skyrocket.
everything we do in UK uses energy
transport, manufacturing, shops, services
all will have to put prices up
which means we are all
going to be caught up
in a crippling bout of inflation
us crumbling pensioners
will suffer the worst of it.
Putin can just sit it out
he appears to be in no hurry
he's comfortably arm in arm with china

we are on the verge of a new world order
with bugger-all you and me can do about it
but it's not going to be nice.

Yes , it’s horrible . Just reading those first few lines of yours made me want to cry . Why .. the cruelty .. there’s no need for it .. (( I believe there will be more peace in the future ..

Dreadful times. Sanctions will hit the people the most. An evil man.

But politicians and war machines of each and every country never learn, do they?

The hard truth! There's honestly not too much that the world can do in this time to prevent this coup, but hope for the best. The sanctions will most likely backfire like you say but I mean, what other option do we have but WWIII. Very sad times.
