Being Kind.

Goldfinch60

We can all help in our world

Every day we see people

People who are lost in life

Lost through no fault of their own

As we pass them

We ignore them

But just remember

That we can be kind people

And if we are kind to them

Kind to the downtrodden

It may help them to rise

It may help the world to rise

Ensuring that a simple act of kindness

May push them

And may push the world

In the right direction

Be kind to all

Being kind does not cost anything

But can mean so much to many.

A smile can be a gift. A smile can lighten a strangers darkness. A smile is a tiny act of greeting and can be received as a kindness.
Start the day with a smile. Well I'm sure you do.

    • Goldfinch60

Very true d a, I always start the day with a smile.

So true ! I said hello to an elderly guy yesterday when I was out .. he smiled back asking how our walk was .

      • Goldfinch60

That is all it takes yellowrose, just a word to somebody.

Dusk mentions the smile - the key to so many doors which otherwise remain shut - great write Andy.

Spot on, we live our lives at a pace we don't even see the fallen now.
          Shame on us.

          • Goldfinch60

Thank you Paul, yes we do not see the fallen anymore.

As you so rightly point out Andy, a smile ‘does not cost anything’.
And that is precisely the point.
But what would mean ‘so much to many’ is the helping hand society can provide with a roof over their head and services they need provided by circumstances (read Governments) which are different to those which allowed you to exist in the position you do today.

            • Goldfinch60

Very true Dave, there is enough money in our world so that nobody need to live in poverty but those in power do not care.

Than k you Melissa, yes it only takes a little thing to help others.

It should be the easiest thing in the world to acknowledge another human being with a greeting. People have done it to me and I have worn a smile afterwards. I have given it to other people and they have given it back to me. Kindness is a reciprocal thing. If we're all givers, we're all receivers, the law of averages.

                • Goldfinch60

Thank you Bella, yes that is so true.
