DARKNESS

wise.word.weilder

Heavy raindrop sound,

Amplify hearts in delight,

Nuzzling eardrums,

Sways to melody around,

Induce smiles,

Like toothless newborns.

She relished the drizzle,

Not the concurrent gales.

As the Shadows arrived,

A well-known; dread surfaced.

Thunder and lightning,

Carried Goosebumps along.

Shudders steered the veins,

Commenced; A chase,

For little breaths,

Commanding a heartbeat,

Forcing her to prolong.

I wonder; who they are.

Why are they here?

The endless anguish,

Assembles me,

Like a show to look at;

The dread, The apprehension,

The unbelief, and the foreboding,

Fortify it even more.

As the darkness engulfs the thought,

Battle for breath begins.

Conquered by the feel,

Behests to omit a heartbeat,

For the longing relief.

Breathing a shadow,

Blending with darkness.

Twining with the skies,

It is me, or it's in me.

At the point of mandate,

A question arises; why should I abide?

Still an inviting step towards longing,

Compel me to endure.

On the brink of limen, that's when it retains.

Warning me to be prepared,

For which breeds every single time.

Nevertheless,

I quest to suffice for this hunger,

While itching for someone,

Ordering to disobey,

Waiting for me to outlive,

When the only thing I wanted,

To be left in darkness,

But, truth be told,

It is the only thing; I'm afraid of,

Wondering; why be darkness there?

The only thing; she was afraid.

Though no pleas; satisfy her heart.

Accept it as; Nature's way.

Will it be the only alternative left?

    'Battle for breath begins.
    Conquered by the feel,
    Behests to omit a heartbeat,
    For the longing relief.'
    (so expertly emoted, with sincerity
what a well written poem, thank you!
    for choosing to share)
and since my words fail me
to try and reply to you, poetically
    I'll borrow from, true genius
and quote from Bukowski's, 'The tragedy of Leaves':
    'what was needed now
was a good comedian, ancient style, a jester
with jokes upon absurd pain; pain is absurd
    because it exists, nothing more;'

OMG, like this was not something I imagined to get in reply, and it does deserve so much more than a thank you; as silly as me, I would still reply to you with one (Thank you so much). Bukowski is a style and statement in itself. You using his word in reply means so much that I cannot describe it in words. But I would also like to mention that your comments never fail to astound me. I am grateful for the support and encouragement. Thank you!

        I too, thank: You!
        for choosing to share, engage
        and welcome, those bright
        poetic shades, into your life
        dear Poet

wow that line: "The endless anguish, / Assembles me" really hits hard. I can only imagine like a small child being brought up in a state of social chaos. Life and pain is all overwhelming, but we must continue on forth. As always, an amazing poet. Also do me a favor, take "amateur" out your bio. 😅💖

Oh, Rocky, so sweet of you, but I'm so much less to the people here on MPS. Thank you for giving this one another perspective, and I love it. 'DARKNESS' here is a general term for all the grief, misery, dread, conditions, illness, loss, and situations. It comes uninvited and never leaves us. How we hope to set ourselves free, but we have to endure it as we think we deserve it. Though feeling that we hope someone could help us eventually, not finding answers to any question, we leave it to NATURE's WAY.
So, as you go by the poems, we are PURPLE; once BLUE enters, we become GREY forcing us to be BLACK; we see RED still, having ORANGE in us, and stop by GREEN. It is just a thought, as always. Thank you so much.
