Formal Funerary Prayers (5)

Tune: St Anne

('O God our help in ages past')

Based on a Formal Prayer = Collect

*********

Eternal Lord God, you hold all

Souls in life, they not fall

On your whole church shed forth we pray

Bright beams of your light's day

Your church in paradise, on earth

Your people of new birth

Send us the heavenly comfort strong

Sustain us all along

Grant we follow good example

Of those who loved you full

And served you here, and now at rest

They with you now are blest

May we at the last enter in

To fullness, free from sin

Fullness of your eternal joy

Through Christ, none can destroy

Thanks M. I suppose you guess that I would find a humanist funeral/service of thanks very strange, and with 'something missing'.
