Tune: St Botolph
('I come with joy, a child of God')
John 13 v.1-17 parts
*********
At Last Supper we gather round
Where you Jesus are found
With your disciples, washed their feet
Loved to the end complete
They had shared with you wine and bread
By you they watered, fed
You set to do your Father's will
It was the cross-way still
But you by humble tasks did serve
None of which we deserve
You our Lord and Master showed there
Your example did share
That we as your servants should too
Wash others feet anew
In deeds and words simple and plain
Sincerely and unfeign
It a living memorial
You died to save us all
And rose again, forgiven we
Eternal life have free

Crumbs, this is in fact super .. and it made me hungry ........... Neville 🙂
Thanks N. Oh dear, a hymn goes '[We are] Not worthy, Lord, to gather up the crumbs'. So we're gonna go hungry. But He invites us, and to more than crumbs. Phew!
Great for the Easter welcoming! Can't wait!
Thanks Rocky.
Lovely poem. As Jesus washed the feet of others, so to can we be open in the service of others who need our help.
Thanks Bella. Aww, it was cancelled - the foot-washing part. Still covid concerns, I suppose.
Good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
