Lingering

spilleronsheet

Sweet candies filling the tongue

candy floss flying by

kids running across the street

catching the ice cream guy

balloons fill up the corners

a game of shooting stars

who wins

who gambles upon

the pellets

for the hanging balloons on the cart

cherry blossoms sweeping the floor

Sweet chocolate melting in mouth

unwavering desires hinging by

mind wavers upon past memories

dwelling upon and mingling on cravings apart

resolving the determination

holding the weekend short

shutting the glaring screens

yellow pages open upon

lingering is the popcorn

molten in caramel around

streets full of laughter

seems abandoned upon…..

Wow Spiller. I literally, LITERALLY, felt like I was experiencing each piece of imagery you've presented. Those childhood memories, so sweet, in all the senses. Your keen and vivid realization of it all is magnificient. Yet the saddening, inevitable, fact, "seems abandoned upon….." This is amazing.

            • spilleronsheet

Thanks dear Rocky. No doubt about some bad memories may dwell the heart but there is no denial that childhood is the most innocent and unforgettable part of our life and these sweet memories makes it worth to remember and relive those memories again and again.
