Fast and furious
It was funny to see
They whizzed around
Like bees getting honey
"Today's local produce
Cook comfort food
Win the immunity pin
If your dish is good"
A cooked with duck
B used the beef
C threw in celery
From stalk to leaf
D cut his finger
Called up the medic
"Oh hurry please hurry
I'm getting frantic"
"1 minute left"
Said the loud chief judge
"Oh no!" E screamed
"My egg won't budge!"
"Push it pull it"
Shouted friends up there
"He must move this
Be careful take care"
Last second it popped
Out of the pot
Right onto his plate
Right on the dot.

I like watching Masterchef, Great British Bake off and other cooking contests. Unfortunately even after all this, I'm a lousy cook but I can do eggs.

Nothing wrong with eggs! Fun poem Rozina which brought a smile to my face
Thank you.
As long as you can do eggs, you will be protein rich. Ok, my food's arrived. lol
Thank you. Do you cook the traditional English roast beef and Yorkshire pudding? My English friends said they'll make this for me even if it's not a Sunday.
Compulsory In Britain, roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, and that's just for desert.
the only thing
that's half decent, about me
is my cooking
and as a fellow foodie
that's a blessing, I cherish mightily..
lol
but really, I too grew up on MasterChef
and the food network
is my place of zen...
lol
(thank you, what a lovely homage
to something that brings, simple
and yet genuinely comforting, joy
to my life)
Thank you. What would you cook for our MPS picnic?
ooohhh, that's putting me on the spot
'what larks'..
overall theme would be something Spring-ish
and mindful to diverse needs..
so maybe, a vegan starter
(a chilli infused vegetable tartare on a crisp tart bake base)
served aside a zingy, smoked mackerel salad with choice of dressings
(let's see, it's a picnic so nothing too elaborate for the mains)
how about, a simple yet lusciously cheesy risotto
and we can take some more vegetable stock in a flask
to reinvigorate it, at park
served aside roasted bone marrow, use game stock to heat up..
and then, we can buy ice cream or fruit salad for dessert
on our way to or from the park itself
like the good old days..
that would be an interesting meal
defo a few conversation starters, me thinks..
(thank you, that was so much fun)
oh and y'all bring the alcohol! πΎπ₯
lol
Oh yes please!
Made me smile and is so very reminiscent of the few masterchef and master potter etc shows i have watched. Nice one, enjoyed it.
Thank you.
A really nice poetic take on culinary undertakings. I mean, I also, am a sucker for all food channels. I find it quite interesting and intriguing, but the funniest part about it though is that I don't even know how to properly make any dish. Welp, I'll just stay watching the pros do it.
Thank you. Keep watching, keep learning, keep writing.
We do seem to have a fascination with food and its preparation. And if you're limited to eggs, just think of the multitude of ways to fix them. I think a new cooking show is in order, "Eggs 'R Us". This was such a delightful and fun read!
Eggs R Us - that's great Bella! Thank you.
Someone's gonna have an accident on there, I feel, with all that rushing around, ovens, knives, etc!
Sometimes they do! Thank you.
Dear Rozina, right on time !! And you did make my mouth water for a while..
Looks like MPS poets are fond of cooking. π
Thank you. I wonder what food each poet would cook to bring to our MPS picnic together with their own brand of poems!
I would surely get Dosa's Indian special dish, loved by everyone..
Rozina a very entertaining write. I love cooking and love to watch cooking shows to get new ideas. I never take down recipes or measurements but love to get ideas of what may go well togeather.
Thank you. My husband is the chef in our family. He is an 'instinctive' cook! He doesn't seem to follow any recipes or measurements or watch the cooking shows but by instinct knows what goes well together, how much to add etc. His dishes are very tasty.
you can't beat a good egg now can ya
.. I enjoyed reading through today's main course Roz .. it had an aftertaste of alphabetti spaghetti ... π
Haha thank you Neville.
Good fun words Rozina.
I have been cooking all my life.
Andy
Thank you Andy. You could cook us a feast if MPS poets got together for a picnic!
I surely would Rozina, it would be an honour.
Andy
