Tune: Lux Eoi
('Alleluia, Alleluia! Hearts to heaven...')
Matthew 28 v.1-10
*********
On Sunday, first day of the week
Two Marys came for to seek
The tomb of Jesus, for to wrap
Body-spices, but their hap
Was to observe a great earthquake
Rocks did rend and ground did shake
For from heaven the Lord's angel
Descended, message to tell
He did roll back stone, the tomb's door
His countenance bright and pure
For fear of him the guard there they
Became as dead men that day
The angel to the women said
Fear not, Christ has from the dead
Risen now, though was crucified
See place where He did reside
But He not here, so go quickly
Tell His disciples, so be
That He is risen from the dead
Now alive our living Head
Behold, He does go before you
Into Galilee, 'tis true
There you shall see Him, I have told
You, here witness to Him bold
They left quickly with great joy, fear
Unto disciples did near
Told them the message, and on way
Jesus did meet them that day
Saying, Greetings, they Him worshipped
With the words they were equipped
Not to be afraid, tell others
Human race, sisters, brothers

Some may question - “Did HE ever die?
Irrespective
The event changed humanity for ever
As your words glorify HIM.
Thanks S.
